A
number of the items that Global Gear sell fall into categories of “Prohibited”
or “Restricted” in certain states and territories within Australia. Prohibited
items require special permits or exemptions to own, depending on the state or
territory in question.
Any
items marked with “Weapons Permit Required” fall into the “Prohibited Items”
category in Victoria, and require a Chief Commissioner’s Approval for Prohibited
Weapons in order to own legally. As Global Gear is required to keep records of
any, and all, Prohibited Items sold within Victoria, we will not release orders
for Prohibited items destined for a Victorian address, until we have received
acceptable copies of the required Permits and Proof of ID.
If you
are purchasing any item marked as a Prohibited Weapon from any state other than
Victoria, then it is the consumer’s responsibility to ensure that the
item's in question are NOT Prohibited or Restricted in their state or
territory, or that any permits required for ownership of said item's have been
obtained BEFORE placing your order.
Failure
to comply with state or territory Prohibited Weapons laws can result in criminal
conviction, extremely large fines, and possible jail time. Global Gear will not
be held responsible for fines or imprisonment resulting from purchase of such
items without the required permits or exemptions.
If you
are unsure if a particular item is Prohibited in your state or territory,
contact your local police department for further details, before
ordering. They should be able to identify any special classification the
item may fall into, and any permits or exemptions required for legal ownership
in your state or territory
